Advice for a Congresswoman

The Smart Crowd is at it again.  The atheist blogosphere has worked itself up into something of a froth and the subject of their latest complaints is Kyrsten Sinema, the new congresswoman from Arizona who is also an atheist.  Now why in the world would the atheist blogosphere be attacking the first atheist congresswoman?  I’ll give you one guess.

Check below for the correct answer.

They are fighting about what she should be called.

Yep, I know it’s hard to believe.  Atheists fighting about labels.  Didn’t see that one coming, did ya?

They are mad at her because she doesn’t want to be called an atheist.  And what makes it even better is that the Gnu atheists are having to follow the lead of Chris Stedman on this one.  Y’see, Stedman open declares himself to be  a faitheist.

So let’s get this straight.  The Gnu atheist activists find themselves having to endorse the arguments of a faitheist chaplain as they unite to go after the first atheist congresswoman who does not want to be called an atheist.  Life is funny.

Let me offer some advice to Rep. Kyrsten Sinema:

Krysten,

If by chance you are reading this, and in the future you plan to do some fundraising at an atheist convention (whatever it is called), do not, I repeat, do NOT use the elevator.

Very funny. A low blow. Nevertheless, very funny.
