    Looks like the poor chap’s got a bit confused and over-literal about the double-meaning of the word, ruminate: to contemplate, consider; to chew the cud.

    I too wonder what cows think – I mean, ruminate about. I’ve always wondered if they ‘think’ at all, or simply react to their surroundings with no real ‘thoughts’ going through their minds other than basic emotions.

    Hmm, maybe I’m not describing cows at all…
