Transactivist Denies Biology

Anytime I hear a social justice activist preach their ideology, a simple question comes to mind – “Where does this all end?”

Here’s a nice example, where a transgender activist argues that trans-women are NOT biologically male.  Y’see, the biological concepts of male and female are also social constructs.  All aboard the Post-Modern train to Crazy Town:

Makes ya wonder.  If you don’t agree with this armchair philosophical babble, are you still invited to the March For Science?

Riley J. Dennis says, “trans women are not male and saying that they are allows some people to justify the mistreatment of trans people.”

Ok, what constitutes mistreatment? If I’m a doctor and notice a trans “woman” has prostate cancer, should I treat him like he has ovaries? If I treated him like the male he really was, would that be mistreatment?

Where does this end? Nowhere good.

Riley says he’s a she that’s also a lesbian. And that they’re a gazillion genders. And that not dating trans/other “races” of people is discriminatory and racist. And… you get the point.

For the most part, I think it’s best to leave the trans activists alone and not engage them.

I didn’t even bother to watch the video.

On trans issues: I’ve dealt with fairly serious depression in my life. It’s not fun. It royally sucks, especially when other people don’t get that there’s more to depression than just “being sad.” If somebody’s dealing with a psychological or physiological issue and transitioning to another gender helps that person, more power to them. But for the most part, I just can’t make the leap to completely embrace the trans political cause.

First is was women, homosexuality, phedophilia, transgender people, etc… are equal to everybody else = To avoid critics and obtain normalitation.

Then they preach “equality” and “science as discover that women, homosexuality, phedophilia, transgender people, etc… brain work/is different”, “they are unic and special” = To do critics and to obtain privilegies.

“Makes ya wonder. If you don’t agree with this armchair philosophical babble, are you still invited to the March For Science?”

From the “diharrea of pre-requistes” for this “March for SCIENCE tm” the answer should be: NO!!! or Reeeeee!!!!!……… unless you are a muslim, “more sharia devout” the best i see.

    “Where does this all end?”

In the total subjugation and control of the human bieng: Like in the novels “We” by Russian writer Yevgeny Zamyatin, “1984” and “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, “The God That Failed” by Arthur Koestler… all those the books have essencially an anti-communism message and how easy is to broke UTOPIAN DREAMS, ones that have high provabiity of be described as “THE WET DREAM OF MOST OF THE GNUS ATHEISTS” = total goverment control of the people, while they (gnus atheist/leftists/muslims/genderwackos/communist/SWJs) are in power

It’s been pretty well debunked by the “Skeptic community” on YT. It’s also not his worse video nor is he an isolated case thus the reason I can’t agree with @pennywit’s position to just ignore them.

    pennywit,

    You say,

“If somebody’s dealing with a psychological or physiological issue and transitioning to another gender helps that person, more power to them.”

The assumption here is that “transitioning to another gender” (as if such a thing is metaphysically possible) really helps a person. The argument from those of us who believe in natural law and the metaphysical reality of biology is that this “transition” will never help the person and instead it is more useful to confront such people with truth (it is more loving in the end.)

Why the psychological profession decided to start treating crazy people as if they were normal is one of the great mysteries of modern life.

Political pressure? That certainly worked for the other constituents of the letter brigade and they tried to do it with this.

  15. pennywit says:

    Two counters:

    1) Wikipedia recounts studies that suggest biological factors play a role in gender dysphoria. In this kind of situation, you’re not talking about a person who tries to transition on a lark, or because he is “crazy,” but because there is a genuine mismatch between brain and body. If you think that gender transition is inappropriate in this case, then what treatment do you suggest?

    2) I don’t have much patience for people who play umbrage pronoun politics. At the same time, if a person wants to be a man, a woman, or what have you … how does it affect you or me? And why do you or I have the right to intrude on somebody else’s personal life or medical decisions?

  16. Kevin says:

    Pennywit,

Regarding 1), I and my son are both on the autism spectrum, me with the condition formerly known as Asperger’s and my son with autism. (I know, everyone on the Internet says they are, guess it’s “edgy” or something.) That means we have underlying neurological characteristics that give us certain social, communication, and sensory issues when compared to most people.

Now, would it be appropriate for my son and I to educate people on autism? Absolutely. The more people who understand what it is and is not, the more people with autism are benefitted in society.

Would it he appropriate for my son and I to demand that society mold and conform itself to our issues in order to alleviate our problems – get rid of high heels and loud keyboards, transition to written communication for interviews, etc? Absolutely not.

    2) If I pointed to a brick and told you it was a dog, are you obligated to agree out of politeness, since it costs you nothing to do so?

  18. Vy says:

@pennywit, if something being supposedly genetic means we should allow it then this, this, this, etc. should be equally allowed. Unsurprisingly enough, that is what’s happening to the first. Also, there’s no such thing as a “male” or “female” brain.

but because there is a genuine mismatch between brain and body.

So it is not a mental defect?

At the same time, if a person wants to be a man, a woman, or what have you … how does it affect you or me? And why do you or I have the right to intrude on somebody else’s personal life or medical decisions?

Why do they want me to affirm their delusions? They’re free to criticize “religion” but when they’re subjective feelings are questioned we’re intruding? Tell that to Brendan Eich or the like.

  21. Michael says:

I would not want to engage a trans-activist anymore than I would want to engage a member of Westboro Baptist. But it’s worth highlighting where this extreme post-modernism would like to take us. And as a bonus, we can see that neither side of the political spectrum has the “anti-science” market cornered.

I can see that it would become an issue if a person wanting to be a man or woman or some other newly created gender demanded that everyone around them conform themselves to their desire/need. Even more so if it became a kind of social or legal obligation to do so.

This is a bit different to the specific transgender issue but there was a guy talking on the BBC radio program ‘The Philosopher’s Arms’ last night who identified as ‘gender fluid’ because on some days of the week he feels he is a woman called Pippa and on other days a man called Phillip. He was advocating greater recognition for the dozens of gender identifications he believes exist. In the light of this kind of activism it’s possible that over time laws against discrimination/workplace bullying may be extended to cover multifarious genders and that various forms of social censure against a failure to give appropriate respect to an individual’s gender self-assignation and so on becomes more expected.

    Already happened in NY.
