Escaping the Social Justice Cult

Here are the words of someone who was once a social justice activist.  Note how she confirms some of the points we have been talking about recently:

I don’t yet know what to call this part of the left. Maajid Nawaz calls them the “Regressive Left.” Others call them SJWs (Social Justice Warriors) or the Alt-Left. The ideology is post-modernist cultural marxism, and it operates as a secular religion. Most are indoctrinated in liberal elite colleges, though many are being indoctrinated online these days. It has its own dogma and jargon, meant to make you feel like a good person, and used to lecture others on their ‘sin.’ “Check your privilege”- much like “mansplaining” and “gaslighting”- all at one time useful terms- have over time lost a lot of their meaning. These days I see them most frequently being abused as weaponized ad hominem attacks on a person’s immutable identity markers….a way to avoid making an argument, while simultaneously claiming an unearned moral highground in a discussion.

I have been wondering why more people on the left are not speaking up against violence, in favor of free exchange of ideas and dialogue, in favor of compassion. But I know why. I was in the cult. Part of it is that you are a true believer, and part of it is that you are fearful of being called an apostate — in being trashed as a sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, fascist, white supremacist nazi.

    “Islamophobic”

is a manipulative word, it suggests there is a problem with someone who doesn’t want islam in their culture whereas the problem is with islam.

The 5th horseman of the Apocalypse, Ali Ayan Hirsi was labeled as “Islamophobic” and barred from speaking. Well, after her friend was assassinated and then she had death threats sent her way, I find it absurd to call her “Islamophobic.” This is like saying some girl is “rape phobic” and thus placing the problem on the victim.

She’s not an Islamophobe any more than any normal girl is a “rape phobe.”

“transphobic”? Most normal guys don’t want to date a guy pretending to be a girl. Transphobia suggest the problem is with guys who don’t want to date a guy pretending to be a girl, when the problem maybe is with the guy pretending to be a girl.

Those labels are lies the moment they are applied.

    “sexist”
“PATRIARCHY!!!”, with not fathers in power?

    “racist”
“Black cannot be racists!!!”, with access to every sphere of power and representation in westerns nations?

    “homophobic”
“Donald Trump is Putin lover!!!”, as Milo Yiannopoulos point out?

    “transphobic”
“Gender discrimination!!!”, then gender is not simply a social construct that need to disappear?

    “xenophobic”
“No walls!!!”, why humans make walls of any kind?

    “fascist”
“Google definition says: that facism is a right wing-nationalistic policy only!!!”, like violence to counter arguments because political liberal idelogy tell you that “others” are facists?

    “white supremacist”
“Fucking white male!!!”, if you believe that [insert idelogy, stance, religion, world view, etc… here] is a bad thing and only people with white or [insert color] skin can have it: congratulations you are a true racist discriminating others using their skin tone of people to measure them on mental level.

    “nazi“
“Punch a nazi!!!”, at least the nazi/s (the party of the nationalist socialists german workers) care about their own people (german people) and future of their OWN nation. Do you know, “liberals” what a nation is? do you know, “liberals” what socialism is? do you know, “liberals” what a political party is? do you know, “liberals” what is the responce to threats (like punching people for politics views) in a country that have no respect for terrorists of any kind is?

    “Islamophobic”

A muslim orgaitation in the west created slur, usually used by people (non-muslims of course) that say “islam is the religion of peace” but that never dare to covert to the “religion of peace” at all, what a show in favor of “pacifism”?.

Seriously force the apologist of islam, the ones that are not muslim, to convert to islam in a moral argument and you will see what they think themselves of “the religion of peace” argument *.

    * = almost all westerns converts to islam are radical fundamentalists for imposing islamic doctrine or wacko SJWS in the western nations using “secular” goverment authority and laws.

It’s one thing to be part of this “cult” in college. I wonder what will happen to these folks once they get to the real world.

They will impose their views in they target, the society in that they live, after they live by the “cult” doctrine in their “university”.

Given that their education seems to consist primarily of indoctrination in postmodern neo-Marxist propaganda, their most likely path post-graduation is either more education, or unemployment. In both cases, they will take whatever welfare is available to them in their circumstances, cultivating the appropriate dependence on the state. A few among them might exhibit some skill as revolutionary rabble-rousers; the remainder will be qualified to act as the useful and eminently expendable idiots so harnessed into serving the revolution.

Well, most of the Baby Boomers eventually became accountants after they got over the “free love” phase. Gen-Xers wore a lot of flannel … and then became accountants. I think the next generation might do the same.

  7. TFBW says:

The Boomers and Gen-Xers went to universities which weren’t quite so thoroughly saturated with Postmodern tripe. The trouble with the current batch is that they’ve been taught this lunacy in the actual classroom context, and think it’s the real deal, not a part of the extra-curricular shenanigans. It’s still primarily a humanities problem: the STEM graduates aren’t quite so intellectually hobbled, but I don’t think the effect can be ignored on that basis. After all, it’s clearly a systematic issue, showing up with disturbing regularity in many unrelated schools.

  8. pennywit says:

Heh. During my time in college (Gen-X university days), from my perch at the college paper, I managed to piss off both the social liberals of the day AND the local right-wingers. I consider that a badge of honor.
