Those of us who are rational, sane, and fair-minded recognize that the BLM movement is an extreme radicalized movement that doesn’t have a very good grasp on truth and reality. For anyone who doubts this, we need only consider the latest posturing of this radical organization:
In our commitment to abolition, we can never believe police, especially the Chicago Police Department (CPD) over Jussie Smollett, a Black man who has been courageously present, visible, and vocal in the struggle for Black freedom.
Black Lives Matter will continue to work towards the abolition of police
This movement wants to eliminate the police (a wild-eyed fanatic position) and actually believes Jussie Smollett, an obscure actor and a liar who cowardly tried to pull off a hoax to get fawning (and free) media attention.
LOL
It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Few people, even Leftists, believe Smollet. So, this may well discredit BLM. Admittedly, I’m assuming people who support BLM have a hint of reason
This is post-modernism taken to the extent of (apart from the cynical ones making money out of it) genuinely believing that all social groups are competing to see who gets the right to define reality.
I think you mean, “that holds truth and reality in contempt.”

Or the hoax — it’s no longer an alleged hoax, the jury didn’t believe him, has found him guilty — can instead be thought of as itself a hate-crime. Whether or not perpetrated to raise Smollett’s profile and minor star income (already $100,000 per episode *), it had the effect of raising inter-racial tensions and of promoting and stoking racial hate.
* Now $0, written out of the series.
