Once again, atheist professor PZ Myers doesn’t seem to have a good grasp on critical thinking. He recently posted this:
and complained it was all Facebook’s fault.
It never occurs to him, or any of his atheist readers, that this could be a Poe or troll.
Given the atheists’ inability to suspect the existence of a Poe/troll, why be impressed by their inability to detect God?
Atheists don’t seem to understand that they cannot grasp what Christians actually think unless they step outside of their narrow materialistic worldview.
In January 2013, PZ Myers’ book “The Happy Atheist” was first published.

A look at his recent blog posts shows that Myers is nowadays anything but happy.

And more recently, in a blog post entitled, “How plausible does this sound to you?”, he posted this meme and his comment on it:
Funny, my own first thought was that the author’s not delusional or even serious, the delusion is Myers’; the obvious likelihood is that the author’s a wit out for a laugh, out to give others a laugh as well.
Others agree: a quick search found it has a thread to itself on the r/thatHappened sub-reddit, the self-description of which sub-reddit is:
There’s several hundred witty comments in the sub-reddit from those who got the joke.
This is a completely made up story — an outrageous tall tale that would make Walter Mitty proud — yet swallowed hook, line and sinker by delusional atheist Myers.
Then reissued by Myers as a “delusional Christian” outrageous tall tale that would make Walter Mitty proud.
In his 19 January 2022 “Jordan Peterson quits!” PZ Myers examines and disparages the reasons Peterson gives for retiring early from his tenured position at the University of Toronto. One of Peterson’s reasons is:
Myers replies:
Hang on, those NSF statistics turn out to be statistics relating to universities in the USA, not Canada. And we know Myers does actually realise this, he summarises his ‘look’:
I am sure you cannot make or break an argument about discrimination in universities in Britain by pulling up statistics relating to French academia, nor can you make or break an argument about discrimination in universities in Canada by pulling up statistics relating to the USA.
That’s obvious. Even an ignoramus like Myers should be able to figure it out.
@nihilist2christian: “Atheists don’t seem to understand that they cannot grasp what Christians actually think unless they step outside of their narrow materialistic worldview.”
True. They also can’t seem to understand that there are Christians who are also involved in the sciences (like cosmology, for instance). Try telling them this and watch their reaction.
