Define “woman” to mean “anyone who claims to be a woman”, as the left has done, and all the evidence you need is for Lia Thomas to claim to be a woman.

Yes it’s utterly insane, but that’s what they’ve done.

  2. Indeed, I expect the answer given in most cases would be “because she identifies as one”.

Of course, one might as well say “What is a zuhsuih? A zuhsuih is anyone who identifies as a zuhsuih” even though that ‘word’ was literally just me hitting some random keys on my computer.

What really confuses me is the number of women who appear to support this insanity. I can understand why predatory men would be interested in access to what were once private women-only spaces, but why are women themselves welcoming such individuals? Based on common sense alone, I would imagine the number of males who are genuinely dysmorphic is much smaller than the number of males who are creeps and want to see women and girls undressing.

How it should work: good men protecting vulnerable women from bad men.
How the woke world works: stupid women protecting bad men from good men.

  3. TFBW says:

There is really no point engaging with the woke. Simply contradict them. Assert sanity.

  4. Dhay says:

Odd, how some Woke people frown (or worse) on cultural appropriation, yet encourage or applaud gender appropriation.

  5. Tom says:

I used to think there was at least some common understanding on terms: I got (at least in principle), that they viewed there to be a distinction between ‘sex’ (objective feature) and ‘gender’ (subjective feature).

I got into an argument with a guy online that doesn’t lead me to believe this anymore. The context was a comparison between Down’s Syndrome and transgenderism. I said that I didn’t understand the analogy because Down’s Syndrome is an objective chromosomal disorder and transgenderism is a subjective self-identification. He replied: ‘Do you consider your gender subjective?’

I replied no, because I use terms like sex and gender in the old-fashioned ways. But I had to stop to consider the implications of what he was saying: we’ve gotten to the point where even a word like ‘objective’ is getting redefined to include self-perception: the OPPOSITE of what a term like objective ever traditionally meant….๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  6. Kevin says:

It’s no longer my opinion or your opinion, it is now “my truth” or “your truth”.

  7. TFBW says:

@Tom: it’s a war over control of the language. They’ll let you think there’s common understanding for a while, then claim more territory. Lather, rinse, repeat. Absolute defiance is the only viable counter-strategy. Don’t give them a fraction of an inch.

  8. TFBW says:

There is absolutely no such thing as subjective gender. A person born male has no idea what it is like to be female, and as such cannot possibly “feel” female. All he can do is express a desire to conform to the social stereotypes of femininity. Vice versa for someone born female. All that is psychologically possible is dysphoria, or a simple desire to be other than one is. Any claim to “gender identity” is just a fancy way of wrapping that up into a pseudo-scientific excuse for one’s deviant behaviour.

  9. Ilรญon says:

==”itโ€™s a war over control of the language. … Absolute defiance is the only viable counter-strategy. Donโ€™t give them a fraction of an inch.“==

Indeed; and that starts with consciously freeing one’s mind and speech of using leftist language. For instance, *never* use ‘gender’ when you mean ‘sex’; *never* use ‘they’ to refer to a single person, use ‘he’ as English grammar requires, or ‘she’ when that happens to be correct; *never* use ‘she’ to refer to a “generic” person, for English grammar requires ‘he’ in such a case.

  10. Archon's Den says:

What, if anything, does the title have to do with the existence of Atheists, or God? ๐Ÿ˜•

  11. Michael says:

What, if anything, does the title have to do with the existence of Atheists, or God?

Atheists insist “there is no evidence for god.” Entailed in their atheism is the notion that all beliefs about reality should be supported by convincing evidence. And, personal feelings, personal testimony, personal experience, intuition, etc. do NOT count as evidence.

Woke people believe Thomas is a woman because he, I mean she, says so and if you dare to disagree with Thomas, it is because you are an evil, transphobic, bigot.

I’m looking to see if the Woke atheism is a coherent, reasonable position or whether it is inherently irrational due to its arbitrary, make-it-up-as-you-go, essence. That is, either come up with another way to define atheism or provide the evidence that Lia Thomas is a woman. Of course, I already know that Woke atheism is irrational, so I’m just illustrating it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Evidence is only necessary for things you don’t want to be true. Feelings are sufficient when it’s something you *do* want to be true.

Archon’s Den > What, if anything, does the title have to do with the existence of Atheists, or God?

The title is, “One Simple Question For Woke Atheists.”

    Substituting:

Archon’s Den > “What, if anything, does [one simple question for woke atheists] have to do with the existence of Atheists, or God?”

As you appear to be a words and language nerd (or geek/dork/dweeb, delete what’s inappropriate), I feel sure you will be able to explain satisfactorily how that sentence is other than nonsense.
